Ho Kow Hainam Kopitiam is in the hands of Mr Ho Kow’s daughter Ho Sook Chan, who has honed her skill as a Hainanese coffee expert during the decades working with her father and grandfather. In May 2018, the owners of the storied coffee shop moved out of its 60-year-old address after receiving an eviction order.
They decided to resume business in a shophouse next to the original one, to the delight of the kopitiam’s loyal customers. And with the third and fourth generations behind the coffee bar, the legacy of Ho Kow Hainam Kopitiam lives on.
